6) Create a guest list everyone can live with This is your wedding, but you might not be paying for it. If you are footing the bill you can afford to be firm with the guest list. If your parents or even the groom s parents are paying for the wedding, you need to be flexible. Establish the maximum number of people your budget will handle. Allow each person to create a wish list with every person they want to invite. Ask them to rank each guest. Use the rankings to create a guest list you all are invested in.
There is always a but! You can have exactly what you want as long as they agree with it, is what they mean. They are paying so as long as it s in line with what they want it s absolutely fine. Parents would disagree strongly with this statement but sat at a wedding meeting I know for a fact its 99.9% accurate. If you don t believe me, test the theory, suggest something a bit off the wall and different and listen to the response. It will almost certainly be something along the lines of quot that s a really nice idea but don t you think…. quot would be better?
